BULL CITY SUMMER BOOK AVAILABLE NOW AT THE DBAP
Limited Edition, Fine Art Hardback Documents 2013 Season with the Durham Bulls

DURHAM, NC — The culminating piece of the Bull City Summer documentary project, a 216-page book chronicling the entire 2013 season at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, is now available at the stadium’s team store.

The limited edition hardback, published by Daylight Books, features 129 fine art photographic reproductions from nationally acclaimed photographers including Alex Harris, Frank Hunter, Kate Joyce, Elizabeth Matheson, Leah Sobsey, Alec Soth, Hank Willis Thomas, Hiroshi Watanabe, Ivan Weiss, and Jeff Whetstone. The book also features writing by Adam Sobsey, Howard L. Craft, Michael Croley, Emma D. Miller, David Henry, and Bull City Summer Director Sam Stephenson.

“This project was really an artistic experiment from the start. Only 13 months ago, none of the documentary materials in this book even existed: None of the photographs had been made yet, nor the writing done,” said Stephenson. “I’m grateful to the dedicated artists on our team, to Daylight Books, to our partnering museums NCMA and CAM Raleigh, and especially to our sponsors — Triangle Orthopaedics, Capitol Broadcasting, the Bulls, and Baker Roofing — for believing this was possible and helping make it happen.”

Bull City Summer: A Season at the Ballpark retails for $49.95 and is available at the Ballpark Corner Store at the DBAP or online here. The Bull City Summer exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Art runs through August 31. A new Bull City Summer exhibit opens at CAM Raleigh on May 22.
